 TRIPLE (COLLAGE) PICTURE FRAMES
If you have a lot of photographs to display and prefer matching frames, or if you rent your home and cannot put too many holes in the walls, a multi-opening picture frame might be just the thing for you!

Triple picture frames are great option for showing off lots of great images. With three spaces - usually each the same size - and hinges or solid frame connecting them, they let you create a complementary, matching display, and save you money, time, and nails. Because they are all one piece, they can often be hung using only one wall hook, which minimizes the number of holes you must put in your wall.

In addition to practical and decor concerns, triple picture frames can be great for multiple related images, or a single image divided into three sections.

At KeenART Media, we can print all the images you want to display in your multi-opening frame, as well as cut replacement acrylic glass and backing for your existing frames. See our Fine Art Prints page and calculator for more informatin and to place your order!

Read on for some ideas on how to utilize your triple picture frame.

WHAT TO DISPLAY IN YOUR TRIPLE FRAME
There are many different uses for triple picture frames. Often the best pairings come from photographs that are somehow related. The following suggestions can help you choose your images:

WEDDINGS

Love multiple images from your wedding, but can't narrow it down to just one? Why should you! Display three of your favorites within one frame. Consider one of the dance, one of the ceremony, and one of the family, or one where the two of you look somber and serious, another with a kiss, and third candid being silly. One with the parents of the bride, and one with the parents of the groom, and one just the two of you. Or, show off an image of the bride and her attendants, the groom and his, and one of the whole lot.

If you have old pictures, it could be neat to display each set of parents' wedding photographs in each opening, with your own in the middle. Anniversary photos can also join in the display. Consider finding one of your wedding pictures with a pose similar to your parents; have your anniversary pictures taken in the same style, and show all three together.

FAMILY

With a triple frame, make sure each set of parents gets equal treatment, and still have room for your small, immediate family. Pair up regular and fun family photos, or put extended family on either side of the smaller group. A child's graduation can be displayed by lining up a smiling image in their gown, the classic Graduation Cap toss, and a formal-wear shot. Or center a picture of the kids together between separate, single photos.

Everyone loves to have multiple pictures of a newborn niece, nephew, or grandchild. A triple picture frame is a great way to show off all those cute expressions. Three consecutive school pictures of one child is another option.

The possibilities are endless!

PETS

Pets are part of the family, and their happy faces can really round out a photo display. Showcase the dog and both cats in a triple frame, or three adorable poses of your one furry offspring. Three images of them at the puppy or kitten stage, the "teenage" months, and full grown, or a memorial for a pet who has passed, with your favorite shots of your life together.

A SINGLE IMAGE

A unique, artsy way to make use of a multi-opening frame is to display a single, panoramic image. Have the image split into three separate photos (left side, center, right side), and display them separated by the frame in a tripych style. For example: the groom in the first opening, the bride in the second, and her long train in the last. How about a young child reaching toward the edge of the photograph in the first, then a length of blank wall, and his favorite toy - or his mom - in the last?

HOW TO DISPLAY YOUR TRIPLE FRAME
One of the great things about triple picture frames is that you don't need to make three (or six holes) in the wall. But a simple side-by-side wall hanging image isn't the only possibility for these versatile frames.

VERTICAL

Some store-bought triple frames have hanging hardware for both vertical and horizontal display. While the horizontal option (three vertical images side by side) is generally more popular - probably because portraits tend to be vertical - showing three horizontal images stacked one on top of the other can create a striking image as well, the perfect wall decor for hallways, stairwells, and narrow alcoves.

EASEL STAND

Not all multi-opening picture frames are meant to hang on the wall. Some small triple frames are equipped with a folding easel back to prop them up on a table, shelf, or desktop. This style is great for pictures of the kids or pets for your office workspace, especially if you have a cubicle and therefore no wall space!

Some wall-hanging and easel-stand triple picture frames have an added edginess to them. They may be arranged in a cluster instead of a straight line, creating a dynamic collage effect great for candids and themed collections.

HINGED

Also for tabletop display, a hinged triple picture frame is actually thtree separate, identical frames fastened together with hinges. Because they can fold closed, this style of frame is propped up by folding the two outside frames slightly inward so they form a straight-lined curve. In this way, all images remain visible, but no additional display hardware is required!

If you have lots of photographs you want to display, but don't want to buy countless picture frames, consider a triple-opening frame. Whether you settle on a simple, modern matte black or a rustic, antiqued raw wood, your images will look striking in their matching borders.
