I feel very passionately about photography because of its’ ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, yet still firmly rooted in the physical world.
If I have an ethos in my work, it’s that nature wins. Nature must always win – for it’s complexity, beauty, and permanence. We must do everything in our power to protect the natural world, and we are dependent upon it.
I also enjoy photographing mundane or complex human artifacts, particularly in industrial areas, and I attempt to show the naivete and simplicity of what we do, as compared to nature’s brilliant scope. That said, I am a great admirer of human accomplishment and wish to highlight that power, too, but that we have a responsibility to use our ingenuity for the greater, global and natural good.
